Placidity

Poem :

Let’s head to golden Beach;
Golden wet moments under the feet,
As the sun goes down
and the globe of glorious fire
turns the beach dusted gold with its lingering brightness.

Being clouds of lights on the horizon
we captured the beauty of the golden sunset
in our cheerfulness that then spreads the reflection on earth.

Upon the sands of gold so bright,
Where waves kiss shore in soft delight,
A tranquil hush, the world at rest,
Placidity in nature’s chest.

The breeze, it whispers through the air,
A touch so light, it’s almost rare.
The ocean sighs, a lullaby,
Beneath the vast and open sky.

Each grain of sand, a gentle trace,
Of time unhurried, filled with grace.
The sun, a glow of tender gold,
Warming hearts, both young and old.

No rush to move, no need to speak,
Just silence that the soul will seek.
A moment still, where time is free,
On this calm shore, just you and me.

The waves retreat, then rise again,
A peaceful dance that knows no end.
In placidity, we find our peace,
Upon the golden beach’s release.

Description

The waves meet the shore as the sky meets the horizon. Such is the promise of freedom. Rosalind’s picture has always indicated a sense of freedom. Similarly, the human mind knows no bounds. It tends to thrive freely thus giving birth to the very concept of creativity.

This abstract piece is a playful depiction of freedom. A simple painting of the twilight sky with waves crashing on the shores and birds finding their way back home leaves a lasting impact on the beholders. Even in its simplicity, the color grading along with the mix of various contrasts adds to the aesthetic. The dusky sky is engulfed with a lot of reddish suffused with a slight essence of lilac and black implying the approaching nightfall. The shores have a mix of yellow ochre and black shades with a soft brush stroke that amalgamates gloriously with the sleeping sun. The distant lands use a unique cool black shade of blue that is seen to rest with the horizon afar.

As we drown in the aesthetics of this abstract piece, one can’t help but relate with the birds flying high in the sky. The sense of liberty to find a path for oneself is the true sense of freedom. Rosalind ingeniously captures this ephemeral feeling imploring viewers to question the true meaning of life.

A sleeping sky bears witness to life as it tends to blossom on the peaceful shores of freedom. The cruel play of fate may try to bring an individual down but as the waves find the shore and the birds soar in the sky with the hope of returning to their homeland, we are nothing, but social animals that fall into the same dogma. Even if we are at the crux of a thousand hurdles, the setting sun always gives us hope that the day might be over only to make way for another bright morning to come.
